Windows 7 Update Causes TPM Problems
Hotfix Available for 64-Bit Systems
Important: This hotfix is only applicable to Windows 7 64-bit systems.
A recent Windows update has caused problems with the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) on some Windows 7 systems. The issue manifests as an exclamation mark in Device Manager under "Security devices" and "TPM".
Microsoft has released a hotfix to address this issue, but it is only available for Windows 7 64-bit systems. To install the hotfix, simply run the executable file and follow the prompts.
Once the hotfix is installed, the TPM device should be properly recognized and the exclamation mark in Device Manager should disappear.
